Background on nextesy
nextesy is a Swiss AI startup developing the «AI standard for administration» – an autonomous operating system for running a business. nextesy was founded in Zurich in 2023 and has its roots in the ecosystem of ETH Zurich and the University of St. Gallen (HSG). After two years of development in stealth mode, nextesy launched commercially in Switzerland in April 2026.
Unlike traditional accounting software that adds AI as an extra add-on module, nextesy is built «AI First»: the AI handles routine tasks such as receipt capture, account assignment, payment reconciliation, and dunning, while business owners only review. The promise: «Orders, invoices, accounting – done.»
Just a few months after its market launch, nextesy had over 2'000 active customers. In October 2026, nextesy was selected among the Top 20 out of more than 1'400 startups at the Slush 100 in Helsinki.

AI payment reconciliation: Automatically reconciles bank transactions with open items, with approximately 98–99% accuracy (based on internal out-of-sample tests)
AI receipt processing: End-to-end automated – classification, renaming, data extraction, booking, and archiving of receipts
WhatsApp integration: Submit receipts via WhatsApp – without an app, portal, or login – the AI processes them automatically
Automatic VAT: The AI handles VAT treatment during bookkeeping
Global full-text search: One search across all modules – documents, accounting, contacts, bank transactions, and settings
Time savings: Up to 50 hours per month (company estimate)
