Swiss AI startup nextesy reaches 2,000 customers: unique product innovations as drivers of growth

Only a short time after its official market entry, the Zurich-based startup nextesy already counts over 2'000 customers. According to the company, the decisive factor for this is above all concrete product advantages that did not exist in this form on the Swiss market until now.

ZURICH, 13.08.2026 – nextesy, a startup with roots in the ecosystems of the ETH and HSG, reports crossing the threshold of 2'000 active customers  for its AI platform for business administration for freelancers, startups, SMEs and fiduciaries.

Growth that can be traced back to the product

"We are pleased that demand is being received so well, especially because it can partly be traced back directly to individual functions that we have consistently developed AI-first," says Dr. Milan Kuzmanovic, Chief AI Officer of nextesy. The company worked on the technology in stealth mode for two years before going public at the end of April 2026.

Three functions are mentioned particularly frequently by customers:

  • AI posting accuracy of around 98%: The integrated AI enables bookkeeping with significantly less manual post-processing effort than comparable solutions. The system automates all steps, from classifying and renaming receipts to extracting all relevant information, matching transactions, actual bookkeeping and archiving.

  • WhatsApp integration including automated AI document processing for accounting: Receipts can be submitted directly via WhatsApp, without any portal, app or additional login. Unique on the Swiss market: deeply integrated and automated end-to-end right through to filing.

  • Global full-text search across all modules: All content on the platform is searchable, from documents to bookkeeping, contacts and bank transactions right through to settings. Such a comprehensive, cross-module search has been sought in vain among Swiss competitor products so far.

"These points partly come from direct customer feedback and solve concrete, everyday problems. This probably explains a good part of the demand," Kuzmanovic continues.

Scaling as the next step

CCO Rouven Mayer sees the current task accordingly soberly: "The goal now is to build the infrastructure so that it grows with the customer base without quality suffering."

Particularly among sole traders and freelancers, a high level of acceptance is evident: the automation of administrative tasks noticeably frees up time for core business activities. The platform is also met with great enthusiasm among fiduciaries: they especially appreciate how reliably the AI-supported automation takes repetitive bookkeeping work off their hands, thus creating space for advising their clients. For nextesy, this is confirmation that the Swiss market is ready for tools that noticeably simplify administrative processes based on AI.
